If you follow sumo news in Japan whether that be through Yomiuri Shinbun or The Japan Times you’ll know they mostly report on the results of the previous day and tries to protect the image of the sport.
However, reading the major media outlets leaves me with more questions like why did they reinstate Kitanoumi as the JSA chairman, why has the performance of Hakuho dropped after the retirement of Asashoryu, and is match fixing still occurring among the top Makunouchi ranks. I was able to find a site SumoTalk.com today that provides some insights on what’s really going on behind the scenes. Not only is the author very knowledgeable about the current and past events of sumo he’s able to logically get past the smoke and mirrors. Let me know what you think after reading and what you’re insights are into the sport.
Today Sumonese Japanese is officially online. Thanks for all the feedback on Facebook and the Sumo Forum. The book is now available for sale on Amazon and Createspace. Check in again soon as I will be putting up some supplementary YouTube videos. If you have any comments or suggestions please email me at yansenlu (at) gmail.com.
